description Formed over 15 million years ago, the Calvert Cliffs span 30 miles of shoreline along the Chesapeake Bay in Southern Maryland. Visitors can view these magnificent cliffs form the park. Over 600 species of fossils have been identified from these cliffs, with the teeth of various species of shark as the most abundant fossils. The park offers nature trails, picnic areas, playground equipment, youth group camping, fishing and many interpretative programs. This is the Ideal destination for birding and wildlife viewing!
drivingDirection From St. Mary's Co. take Rt. 4 north approximately 9 miles. Turn Right on Rt. 765 to park entrance. Proceed with directions.From Points north take Rt. 2/4 south approximately 14 miles south from Prince Frederick. Turn left on Rt. 765 to park entrance. Proceed with directions.Facing Park entrance, turn left on H.G. Truman Hwy. Travel half a mile (just past Middleham Chapel). Turn Right on Camp Conoy Road. Follow to the end of the hard surface road and bear right onto dirt road. The entrance to Bay Breeze will be about half a mile on the right.

importantInformation ALCOHOL POLICY: The consumption or possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage will be prohibited in all state park areas with the exception of interior areas of full-service cabins and motorhomes. Permits may be issued upon request by the Park Manager for special events operating under a use agreement. Alcohol Permits will only be issued through a reservation for a designated shelter, or other approved facility. A $35 fee will be charged for each alcohol permit and must be obtained 1-day out prior to arrival.
